Island Tours on Ambergris Caye

Island Tours on Ambergris Caye
Marco Gonzalez Maya Site

Located at the southern end of Ambergris Caye is Marco Gonzalez Maya site, the only one of 18 sites recognized on the 25 mile long island to have protected status. This Eco-Tour is unlike any other, walking the grounds is like a step back into time. The black soil is blanketed by conch shell mounds and broken pottery, with pieces having been identified from a span of 200AD to 1500 AD.

CSI Belize

Enjoy an evening adventure with CSI Belize, "Crocodile Scientific Investigators". Join the ACES team on a crocodile research expedition aboard a twenty foot Carolina skiff. You will cruise through less traveled mangrove areas on the back side of Ambergris Caye in search of crocodiles. You will have the opportunity to see expert Biologists in action as they capture saltwater crocodiles for tag and release.

To learn some fun crocodile facts and how taking a trip with CSI Belize helps build a Wildlife Refuge & Crocodile Sanctuary on North Ambergris Caye, please visit our resort blog.

Enjoy a bird's eye view of Ambergris Caye and the barrier reef as you fly above the Caribbean Sea. As you soar above San Pedro and the reef, not only will you get a great island aerial view of the island, you will also have a chance to see some marine life. Most common sightings are rays, if you are lucky, you will catch sight of dolphins or even a shark. On this tour you can enjoy a quiet moment and fly solo or share the fun with a friend by taking the tandem seats.

Beach Barbecue

Head north and enjoy your day at a pristine stretch of beach where the reef meets the island. Here you can snorkel the reef or go beach combing for natural treasures. While you are experiencing tropical nature at its best, your guide will prepare a delicious beach barbecue. After lunch you will have time to relax under the shade of a coconut tree, walk the beach or go for swim.

Funtasea Speed Boat Adventure

Discover the thrill of driving mini speed boats. As you explore the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean Sea at speeds of up to 35 mph you will pass bright coral, sting rays, and schools of tropical fish. Funtasea is a unique way to tour Ambergris Caye. Highly trained and licensed tour guides will guide you through the natural beauty of Ambergris Caye and into the water jungle surroundings of the mangrove sanctuary. While driving through these protected wildlife areas you're sure to see many varieties of Belize's tropical birds and juvenile fish.

Adventure Water Sports

Coming soon and will include jet ski's, kayaks, paddle boats and paddle boards.

The reef is visible from the resort and there are kayaks for guests. You can kayak out and tie off to a buoy that is near the reef just a little north of the resort dock for snorkeling.  The kids fished off of the lighted dock every night and caught a lot of smaller fish. My son eventually caught a 20 pound Horse-eyed Jack - yummy. Also, great snorkeling under the pier at the beach directly in front of the resort.
