If you like music and cultural events – The International Costa Maya Festival is worth putting on your travel list. This annual festival features performers from across the Mundo Maya region and worth attending, especially if you are a crowd gazer.
Originally Costa Maya event was started 20 years ago as a way to increase tourism in off season and it has grown so successful that people are booking ahead to make sure they get a room.
Couples are dressed in their finest come out to celebrate and enjoy performances from the Beautiful Costa Maya girls, colorful dancers and talented musicians from around Central America.
This year the title of Reina de la Costa Maya 2012 went to Natalia Villanueva, Miss Mexico. Natalia won the title of Reina de la Costa Maya at this year’s Festival beating seven other Central American beauties from El Mundo Maya.
