It’s that time of year again, and we are excited to announce our sixth annual International Deep Sea Classic Fishing Tournament to be held the weekend of July 29th – 31th. This is our largest tournament to date with 50 boats and over $200,000 in cash and prizes, thanks to our many sponsors. This year, the BTB and Grand Caribe will be contributing an additional $25,000 to the Calcutta.
Schedule
The event is scheduled to kick off on Thursday July 28th at 5:30pm with opening cocktails and the Captain’s briefing begins at 6:00pm. Highlights of the night will include the launching of the IGFA record of species within the region and our partnership with the San Pedro Tour Guide Association to donate 10% of the Calcutta towards scholarships for young tour/fishing guides. Additionally, each registered boat will receive flags and free gift bags. Special Guests at the event include Nicole Spenc, Darcie Arahill (Darcizzle) and Carey Chen. The silent auction for Carey Chen’s artwork commences on Thursday night.
The big event for the weekend starts on Friday July 29th with Bimini at 6am at our dock and ends on Saturday July 30th at 6pm. Awards and prizes will be given out on Sunday July 31st at 11am in the West Room. After the prize giving, the silent auction will end and international entertainment at the pool will begin.

Belize Tourism Board Expo
While the avid anglers are out competing, the excitement continues onsite with the Expo in partnership with the tournament’s platinum sponsor, the BTB (Belize Tourism Board). The Expo will take place on Saturday July 30th at 11am-5pm in the West Room. The booths will be hosted by other hotels on the island, tour guides and operators, promotion of QRP program with realtors, and local vendors and artists selling their items.
