Grand Caribe is GOLD STANDARD certified, which means that we have met all the requirements and standards set by the  government to ensure your safety. The guidelines below represent best practices for the tourism industry, in accordance with The Ministry of health, CDC and OSHA guidelines, during the re-opening phase of the economy. It is anticipated that these guidelines and protocols will evolve based on the recommendations of public health authorities and must be done in compliance with the laws of Belize and advisories from the Ministry of Health. This protocol provides responsible measures to stop the spread of COVID-19, whilst continuing to offer a comforting and enjoyable experience for our Guests. Stay, Play, Test, Return Home

You may be aware that the US and Canadian Governments are now requiring international travelers to take a COVID test before returning home. You can still have fun in Belize! Here is what you need to know
  • Grand Caribe is offering on-site return trip COVID testing.
  • Grand Caribe has an on-site, state-of-the-art, Medical Facility staffed by licensed doctors and nurses.
  • At the time of writing, we had less than 100 active identified COVID cases on Ambergris Caye.

COVID Tests &
Belize Travel Health Insurance

A COVID-19 test is no longer required to enter Belize.
Effective July 12, 2022: All foreign tourists entering Belize will have the option to purchase Belize travel insurance. It is no longer mandatory but it is highly recommended by the Belize Tourism Board. Additional information can be found on the Belize Tourism Board website.

Guidelines & Protocols

BROAD SPECTRUM SANITATION
The frequency of cleaning and sanitizing has been increased in all public spaces with an emphasis on frequent high- touch surfaces including, but not limited to, front desk check-in counters, elevators, and elevator buttons, door handles, public bathrooms, room keys and locks, and stair handrails, gym equipment, dining surfaces, and seating areas. All equipment for Guests use is constantly sanitized, as well as all vehicles for transfer services. In the Resort hand sanitizers, masks and disposable gloves will always be at your disposal.
NATURAL LOCATIONS
We are grateful for the luxury of space at Grand Caribe. The family friendly surroundings feature 800 feet of beautiful, sandy beach. Our pier features a gazebo and lounging deck with easy access for a dip in the sea. We have six swimming pools, 2 hot tubs and comfy hammocks; ideal for reading, listening to music or taking an afternoon nap.
DISTANCING IN WIDE SPACES
The luxury of Grand Caribe large 1000 sq ft to 4000 sq ft Suites and spacious SPA makes it easier to keep distancing without too much effort. To ensure the widest individual space possible, our Resorts will operate initially with a limited number of Suites.
RAIN AND AQUA RESTAURANT/POOL BAR

The tables will be laid out to guarantee wide personal space. All buffets have been replaced with à la carte service and menus will be accessible on your mobile through a QR Code. In addition, room service menus have been expanded to allow you to enjoy your meal in the privacy of your Suite.

SPA/GYM AND COMMUNAL AREAS

To avoid any possible gatherings within the communal areas (Spa, Pools, Relax and Fitness Areas), access is limited to a reduced number of Guests and this is constantly monitored by our Staff. All gym equipment is sanitized after use and reservations for use is recommended. All therapists wear personal protective equipment and treatment rooms are fully sanitized after each treatment.

While there are changes to the amenities and general access to the community due to the pandemic the team at Grand Caribe were constantly coming up with new ideas on how to make our stay special.
